The moderate Easy Rider version of the Tour du Mont-Fort is a great introduction to all-mountain bike touring. For this tour you need to have a good physical condition, as the tour includes 6km of uphill and experience riding the gravel roads and easier single trails. During the tour there is four up lifts with gondola, avoiding the steep climbs.

The advanced Pro Rider version of the Tour du Mont-Fort is a true cross-country challenge. With an ascent of +2429m and descent of -3277m this tour counts as one of the most physically demanding mountain bike circuits of the Valais region.

View of Verbier from Ruinettes - Croix de Coeur Section

Among the highlights of this tour are:

The summit of the Croix de Coeur; An undisrupted view over the Bagnes valley, Mont Rogneux and Grand Combin glacier.

The Tracouet lake; it's dark, black colour is one of a kind, paired with magnificent views of the Rhone Valley. On the way to Tracquet lake, you can sight the biggest and possibly the oldest Larch trees in Europe.

The Tortin Glacier; Both in winter and summer the Mont-Fort is the most popular destination in the four valleys. From the top of Mont-Fort you can view the most beautiful alpine mountains, that are covered under the snow blanket year around, from Matternhorn to the Mont-Blanc the greatest of the Alps can be admired from one single point.

The descent of the Col des Gentianes (2894m); Between Tortin Glacier and Verbier, there is a fairly long well-deserved descent to Verbier. Surrounded by 3000m high peaks, rock gardens, sometimes snow patches - this environment gives you an ultimate high Alpine riding experience. If you are lucky you can spot Chamois and Ibex goats.

HERE you can find more detailed technical information of the tour.

We are looking forward to take you for a ride on this beautiful itinerary!
