Les Gets bike park opening

Les Gets bike park is part of the biggest MTB area of Europe in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. Starting from easy, flowy greens trough blue, reds and blacks for pro mountain bikers. Les Get’s bike park has it all - 13 downhill tracks, 1 freeride trail, 6 freeride tracks, jump park, north-shore zone and a four cross trail.

This summer Les Gets is organizing a special MTB spectacle: Crankworx ’17, organized between 14th - 18th June! The multi discipline competition/show brings together the Mountain-biking elite in most spectacular disciplines; Slopestyle, Dual Speed & Style, Pump Track and Downhill.

The Singletrail team is planning to be there at one of the days, join us to cheer the mountain bikers!

But back to the blog post, Ella - our Singletrail mountain bike guide & marketer is writing about the bike trip to Les Gets bike park.

We arrived there quite late around midday. We rented a bike for our client Sofie, and went up to the mountain. It was a first time ever riding in the bike park for Sofie - therefore we started exploring the green and the blue trail network. Sofie progressed fast, at the end of the day she was shredding the reds!

The green and the blue trails in Les Gets are wide, flowy and playful, which makes them a good beginner area, where you can learn to master different trail obstacles. On the other hand they are built in a way that makes them enjoyable and sometimes even challenging for a riders on a higher speed for advanced riders as well. The lifts are quick, you can make 3 rides easily in an hour.

We lapped few times on a well known trails, after a lap or two we explored a newly build blue and green trail area - it was a pleasant surprise - the trails were in the forest - not too steep, but still rooty enough to get the feeling and build up the confidence riding on rooty terrain.

We finished the days on the red trails, slowly but with confidence Sofie handled them - which is a great achivement for the day for a first time rider.

+1 She was a roadie before - we transformed her completely - so much, she will be riding with us on the Verbier bike park opening!

See you soon,

Ella
